We'll start with a detailed briefing on local conditions and safety protocols to ensure everyone is informed and comfortable before we begin.
The experience
Once suited up, we conduct thorough buddy checks to ensure all equipment is fitted correctly, allowing us to focus entirely on the marine life in front of us. As a group, we make our way into the water together, taking the time to ensure everyone is fully settled and ready to explore. We maintain a group proximity of within 10 feet at all times — this ensures collective safety and allows us to share in the excitement: when one of us finds something, we can all see it.
Post-dive connection and foraged tea
We finish back on shore with warm towels and a fresh-water rinse, debrief what we discovered, and share a warm cup of locally foraged tea.

Tours run mid-May through mid-October at selected locations along Nova Scotia’s South Shore. All bookings are private to your group. The booking form takes about two minutes and covers everything I need — including gear sizing, so your kit is fitted and waiting when you arrive.

Frequently asked questions
- Do I need snorkeling experience?
- No. The tour is designed for beginners, but you should be comfortable floating in deep water while wearing a wetsuit and fins.
- Where do we meet?
- It depends on the weather. I pick whichever of our three spots — Paddy's Head, Cranberry Cove, or St Margaret's Beach — has the best conditions that day. After booking, you'll receive the exact pin, parking notes, tide timing, and what to pack once the location is confirmed.
- What happens if the weather is bad?
- The tour only runs when the cove is safe. If wind, swell, fog, or lightning makes conditions poor, you can reschedule or receive a full refund.
- Can kids come?
- Yes. The minimum age for snorkeling is 10, and a parent or guardian must join the tour.
- Are there sharks?
- Nothing to worry about. These are shallow, kelp-lined coves, not open-ocean feeding grounds, and there's no record of a shark encounter here. You're far more likely to meet a curious seal than anything with teeth.
